This Is the website where you can find my groups final project

Day 1: Brainstorming

On this day we brainstormed on topics related to the theme Science In The Courts that we would like to complete. The two ultimate groups were autopsies and brain development. We then got together in our groups and found information on our topics.

Day 2: Field Trips

On this day, we took a field trip to Brandeis University and the Malden Police Station. At Brandeis, we met another group of students who had studied and debated topics of religion. science, and the legal system the courts). Each group then introduced themselves and what they had been doing for the past month. Then we were introduced to a court case and split up into two different groups, one for suspect, and one against the suspect. The court case was Roper v. Simmons. The two groups then discussed their topics and found arguments to bring up in the upcoming debate we were going to have. We then had our debate. After that we said bye and headed off to the Malden Police Station. Once we arrived there, we found a police there who took us to the fingerprinting room. There we learned some things about fingerprints. For instance there are on three kinds of fingerprint( ). Then we went to another room where we learned how police officers discover fingerprints in investigations and the kinds of tools they use to uncover the fingerprints. Then we went to upstairs to a classroom where a firefighter taught us how he uses science in fire investigations. After that, we were dismissed from the police department.

Day 3: The Final Project

On this day our two groups started to discuss what we were going to do for our final project. I was in the autopsy group. We decided to create a wiki space based on a case having to do to with autopsies. We chose an investigation having to do with the death of an 8 year old girl. We as a group took the details of this case and altered them to make our own case. Some of the things on our page include glogs and an enactment of the trial for our case. For the rest of the day we put together our project. You can find a link to it at the top of the page.

Day 4: The Last Day

On this day a speaker named Steven Laken came in to speak to us about MRI's as well as other scientific evidence can help to prove someone innocent or guilty. After that we finalized our final projects and ate pizza and said goodbye.
